If you have a blog or website you are trying to make money online with nothing happens until you are get traffic coming to it. Depending on the niche you’re in the Internet is becoming very competitive.

Let’s talk about a few ways you can use traffic to make money working online and beat the competition.

1. Learn basic techniques for search engine optimization. The longer you are online the more you will come across to websites that do not have proper optimization on them.

Rather then trying to make this out to be harder than it is just think of the search engines as your friends. You very simply want to let them know what every webpage you build is about.

The way to do this is to focus on targeted keywords for every webpage you build. The same thing holds true for every blog article you write.

You can pass your competitors up over time, and rank highly for numerous keywords, if you practice basic SEO all of the time.

2. Do a little bit of pay per click advertising. Everyone thinks immediately of Google when they think about ppc advertising, but there are many search engines you can promote on.

Certainly Yahoo and Bing are large competitors of Google. However there are hundreds of smaller ppc search engines you can promote on without spending very much money.

3. Start a blog and add content to it on a consistent basis. You can hire a blog writer if you do not like to write and it doesn’t cost that much to do it.

Search engines love blogs and so do readers. Blogging is a powerful form of social networking and social media that you just must use to get traffic and ultimately make money working on line.

4. Work at setting up proper internal linking to drive traffic to your own various inner pages. You do not want to overload your webpages with links to other pages of your own, but you do want to interlink your website in an effective way.

One problem many people have with their websites is leading their traffic away to affiliate webpages. You are better to write presell pages and link to them as opposed to sending traffic to the affiliate webpage of your own.

Concentrate on getting one way back links as opposed to links pointing to your competitors websites.

These are a few tips on using traffic to make money working online. The key is to handle your traffic properly and get as much of it as you possibly can.

It is not easy to make money online, but an online internet marketing course can help you. Most people (99%) that start online with great hopes and money in their pocket to help, end up broke and making nothing due to ignorance and taking the wrong advice. That can be avoided.

There are many hurdles along the way, especially for those new to making money online. Some of these are:

1. They are too impatient.

Impatience breeds taking chances and cutting corners. That does not work online. Anybody that gets impatient and tries to bypass the proper procedures and rules needed for online success will fail – 100%.

2. They are Not Committed

A lack of commitment spells disaster. This is not a hobby, and you must commit your entire life to your online success. Any less and you will fail. If you are working full time, as opposed to part time while you still have the day job, you must look upon it as your job, and if you take time off for any reason then you must make it up the same day by working later (see below).

3. They Fail to Plan

I will not mention the old cliché that a failure to plan is a plan to failure (damn! – I mentioned it!). It is true – you must draw up a plan. Decide on a goal, such as you want to make 0,000 in a year, or want to make enough for your kid’s college fees. Make it realistic – I want to make ten million next month. You must be able to meet the goal you set.

Then split that up into monthly and weekly, and even daily, targets, so that of you meet these targets, then you will achieve your goal. Do not stop working until you have met your targets. Those that fail make no plan, and have no targets to meet.

4. Lack of Knowledge

They do not know enough to miss the traps. These traps are all the offers found online: ‘How to Make a Fortune in a Day’, How I Made ,000 in a Month’. Sure, I know somebody that did that, and more, but you couldn’t even if you followed his instructions to the letter. These guys make big bucks because they are well known, and everybody else online will sell their products for them. Try persuading them to sell your product and you will receive no answer: a total wall of silence.

An online marketing course worth its salt will explain to you how to make money online the right way; in fact the only way that will make money over time. It might offer you eBooks, online instructions or videos, but it will teach you the right way, and point out all the pitfalls along the way.

Any program that tells you that making money is easy as long as you follow their instructions is conning you. That’s a fact! And many will try it. Don’t believe them, but do believe somebody that is not a millionaire, but makes a good living by following certain rules and uses tried and trusted methods. That’s what you have to learn: the techniques being those that are making a living with two or three hundred thousand a year, not those used by people that claim they are making millions with no proof that they are doing so.

If they are making big money then they are doing so by persuading you that their useless techniques work, and by offering you guarantess that are up before you get the program going. "This will take 3 months to make big money", and later: "You have the security of our 60 day guarantee". Enough said – you can make money online with an online internet marketing course, but be careful what you are buying.

For information on how to use a membership site to your advantage, check out http://www.marketing-membership.com that offers you an unimaginably good offer that will teach you how to make money online without making all the mistakes that 99% of people make, and making sure that you have all the information you need at your fingertips.

A website is absolutely necessary to let people know what you have to offer, where you are, and how to contact you.

Most people today turn to the internet first when they are looking for a particular service of product. They make their decisions based on the information they find on the websites they visit. If they are indecisive they will return to a favored websites at a later date before making their final decision.

If you have a small business, you might advertise in the yellow pages or online. You may even have a website – but where are your clients looking in order to find you?

One survey recently conducted by a specialist medical practice was designed to identify where most of their clients came from, as the time had come to update the advertising. In reviewing the referrals, they found that 60% came from word of mouth (they are very good at what they do) the rest came from their online presence. 0% came from the hard copy advertising.

Needless to say this year they dropped the conventional avenues of advertising and now solely advertise online. They had people from other countries make appointments for when they were travelling to Australia, where they were located.

This could never have been achieved through conventional advertising, so for a small business having a website is not a luxery but a MUST. Its irrelevant what type of business you have, a website makes you accessible to people all around the world.

Getting your own website does not need to cost a lot of money – great news. These days it is an easy thing to do yourself! The reason is that there is some professional, yet user-friendly website building software.

Your website can be a simple, yet elegant, one page information site, listing your products and services, and, of course, contact details. Or it can be a multimedia masterpiece. Good website building software will have the ability to grow with your skills.

The best software packages will probably not be the most expensive, but will definitely pay for itself with a huge increase in customers.

Find out now how XSitePro2 has been created with internet marketing in mind, to get you making money from your website. http://www.xsiteproeasy.com

Building links used to be all about just getting a backlink and that was it. It didn’t really matter how or from where, so long as you were getting them, you were golden. That was a long time ago, and as with everything on the internet, things quickly evolved.

A few years ago, link farms were all the rage, of course they were not called link farms back then. They worked fine, until webmasters found a way to abuse the system and get thousands of links from them overnight.

After that came the link directories, which unlike link farms were a little more sophisticated and organized. Link directories are a great way to get your homepage spidered quickly, maybe even grab a visitor or two if the directory is of high quality and your link is very attractive. The effectiveness of link directories has dwindled dramatically due to the many automated software systems and sites that’ll submit your link to thousands of them overnight.

It’s just not what search engines would call a high quality link…

Just recently, link exchanges or reciprocal link building sites and programs were all the rage. Give me a link and i’ll give you one right back. When the search engines caught on to them, they evolved into 3 way link exchanges, I’ll give you a link, you give them a link and they’ll give me a link. Seemed like the perfect solution, and to this day still works quite well to get links to your homepage…

All of these systems have three inherent problems in the eyes of the search engines:

1. They create links to your homepage only
2. They are systems easily manipulated by the webmasters
3. They provide very little value, if any, to the end user, in this case the visitor

It was inevitable that, eventually, the search engine’s would have to do something about this, they would have to find a better way to qualify, justify and rank backlinks.

After all, links are the backbone of the internet. The result of this, changed the way the major search engines look at the links on your pages and more importantly, the backlinks pointing to your pages. They took a 180 degree turn altogether!

Instead of looking at the way the webmaster had optimized their site or what links were coming and going, the search engine’s turned their focus to what the end users’ behavior was when clicking on or following those links!

The main indicator of quality, relevancy and validity of the links now lies in the end users behavior. When looked at from the search engines’ point of view, this makes perfect sense. Here’s the logic behind the madness and why the search engines trust this information far more :)

to begin with, the webmaster has little to no control over the end users actions, so this is very unbiased and raw feedback. Let’s walk through a typical scenario.

A visitor is on your site, maybe the homepage or maybe an inner page, they are interested in the content on your site and they spy a link which catches their eye they click on the link and it takes them to another page…

Here is where it get’s interesting!

There’s only two things they can do:
1. Stay on that site
2. Leave that site

Based on this behavior, the search engines can tell instantly if the link was good or bad. If the visitor immediately closes the new page or backspaces away, the search engines can make certain assumptions. For example they might assume the link was irrelevant to the page it pointed to, they might assume that the anchor text used in the link was deceitful.

One way or the other, that particular visitor was not happy with that link, so the se may not give that link any weight. However, if the visitor decided to stay on the page after following the link, the picture is entirely different.

Now the se starts to analyze why they may have stayed on the page. They will look first at the page the link was on and compare it to the anchor text of the link for relevancy. Then they will look at the page the link was pointing to – the page the user is currently on – and compare that to both the link anchor text and the previous page.

Next they will look at the users behavior while on the new page, how long they stay on the page, if they go back to the previous page, or if they follow a link within the current page, and if so, is it an internal link or an external link…

When all is said and done, the result from this extensive research will ultimately determing whether or not this link is valid and what weight it should be given.

The more weight the link is given, the higher overall ranking the page will receive in the search engine for the terms researched. You may ask, "how can the search engines possibly get all of this data?"

Easy, there’s several tools that google and other search engines use to follow you around the web, like toolbars, certain browsers and of course, google analytics.
As of this writing, it is estimated that almost 60% of all webmasters are using google analytics to gather user specific data on their sites.

Does this mean you should not use google analytics? Of course not! As a matter of fact, we strongly recommend that you do use it. It’s a great way to see what your visitors are doing on your site :) that’s very valuable data!

But at the same time, you should know how to use this data and tool to your advantage. The take away lesson from this article should be:

"When building links, always think like your visitor and not like a webmaster trying to get pagerank."

Build high quality, relevant backlinks that point to content on pages that will be useful to your visitor and will make you look like an authority for providing it. These are called "deep links" and they go from an inner page on your site to the inner page of a completely different but very relevant site.

Don’t worry about the small percentage of visitors that you may lose to these links, if done properly, link building will increase your overall traffic by tenfold or more!

Increase your Traffic, Authority and Rankings using our State of The Art Automated Deep Link Building Software http://www.NextGenlinks.com by Charles Kassotis Grab a Full One Domain Membership Today for Only …

With so many list building techniques and methods out there, it is fairly easy to lose your head with trying to amass the most number of potential patrons – without really thinking about whether you are doing this task correctly or not. Think about it this way: concentrating solely on building up your list is like working very hard to drive the most number of traffic to your site. Although this sounds good, it can prove counter productive in the end. Why? Because your efforts are not yielding any result. You may have a very extensive list of people, but none of them are doing anything positive (such as buying from you or continuing their email subscription.)

What you need to do is drive as many quality traffic to your site, and the term quality means that you are limiting your efforts to enticing the specific group of people who have about 60% to 100% chance of really taking out their wallets to buy goods from you. The same is true when it comes to list building. So how can you make your list building efforts run correctly? You would need a squeeze page for starters.

What is a squeeze page?

A squeeze page is also known as a landing page, where website visitors are asked to fill out an opt-in form that solicits the visitors’ email addresses and other information that the online marketer might need like the visitors’ first names, etc. There are different kinds of squeeze pages, and some of them are tailor-fitted to suit the needs of the marketer who is using them.

One example would be: a website visitor is asked to opt-in in exchange for a free email alert of the product being offered. If the visitor decides not to fill in the form, the only option would be to leave the website altogether. Another example would be an opt-in form that the visitor can either disregard or fill out later for a chance of exploring the site first. This form though is not really considered as an effective squeeze page by many seasoned online marketers because of its low success rate in terms of capturing web visitors’ email addresses.

Third example would be: a website visitor is asked to fill out the opt-in form, but instead of being directly "released" into the site, the website visitor has to wait for a confirmation letter from the marketer through the email he or she has submitted; and that there is a verification code that the website visitor must click onto to assure the marketer that the subscription is indeed being asked for by the person who owns the aforementioned email address. This is called the double opt-in. And by far, this is the most successful kind of squeeze page example around.

The underlying principle behind the installation of squeeze pages is that sales usually do not happen on the first time a website visitor lands on a marketer’s page. So by ensuring a continuous electronic correspondence with the visitor, the visitor is enticed to revisit the webpage again and again. This helps cement potential sales in the future. Additionally, for regular patrons who are given updates as to new products and promos, this ensures that there are repeat sales and even customer-to-customer referrals as well.

Working his way around complicated processes that limits his list building endeavors, creator Christopher Freville finally completed his fully automated software program that feeds the opt-in boxes of his website choked full of loyal subscribers. The first of its kind, the Automated List Builder is now helping other online marketers increase their marketing lists by a hundred fold with techniques for a squeeze page.

To find content on the web we use search engines. To make sure the search engines find our content, we can optimize it. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) copywriting is writing content that the reader wants to read and will be easily found and rank well with search engines.

The object of writing for the Internet is to get the reader to use your content to click through to your website. If they don’t get to your website, they can’t look at your products or services and you will have lost a potential customer. Here are a few mistakes that you’ll want to avoid.

MISTAKE #1 – Have a Boring Or Vague Title

This is a very important mistake not to make. If they don’t even look at your article, all your time and effort are wasted. If you provide an attention grabbing title, one that makes them curious enough to open your article, you’re halfway there.

Here are just a few ideas to get you thinking: Use titles that describe the content of your article but are short and concise; Use keywords in your title that people might be searching for; People can’t resist articles with lists or tips such as, "Top 10 Copywriting Mistakes" or "Top Tips on Getting Your Articles Read"; and "How to" articles are popular as well.

The bottom line here is to put some thought into your title. Think about how to get a reader’s attention.

MISTAKE #2 – Create Bland Content

From beginning to end – try to keep it interesting. Make reading your article a pleasurable experience for your reader. Here are a few suggestions.

Make it fun, relevant and grammatically correct. Nothing pulls the reader out of a story more than bad grammar and misspelled words.

Use short sentences and try to limit paragraphs to two or three lines. Concentrate on writing rich and appropriate copy rather than just practical words.

Have a sense of humor. This gives your articles personality. Don’t give a sales pitch – use a call to action. The purpose of your article is to get your reader to get to your website. Your writing could include a reason for them to find more information, either from another article that you’ve written or from your website.

"Content is king". If you keep this in mind, you’ll be ahead of the game. Search engines love well-written and useful content. So do readers.

MISTAKE #3 – Make Your Article As Hard To Read As Possible

Every post should be easy to scan. That means your reader should be able to easily scan your article and find headings that will tell them what the section is about. You can use numbered lists and bullets to organize your ideas so they are quickly read. If you italicize, bold or underline a word, the search engine assumes that it’s a keyword. You can use this to your advantage. However, if you use these tags a lot or if you use them on non-keywords, you’ll confuse the search engines and lose any advantage you would have gained.

The other thing that makes a page easy to scan is short paragraphs. When you look at your copy on the page, you should see a lot of white space. Looking at a page that’s completely filled with words is intimidating to a reader. You want to make it as friendly and welcoming and as easy to read as possible.

MISTAKE #4 – Misuse Keywords

Keywords are at the core of writing for the web. You should research and know your keywords. Here are a few suggestions about keywords:

* Target a set of keywords in every post but don’t use them more than three or four times on a page. If you use the same keywords again and again, search engines can tell that the article isn’t very useful.

* Use a wide variety of words that pertain to your topic.

* Use synonyms of your keywords in addition to the keywords.

* Don’t stick to a standard keyword density for every article or post. You want your words to flow naturally, and overuse of keywords makes your copy sound forced.

* Review your keywords every so often. Sometimes your business changes and you want your articles to change also.

If you provide your reader with content that lets them learn or experience something, you’ll have a happy reader. If you provide the search engines with good keywords and a variety of them, you’ll have a happy search engine.

MISTAKE #5 – Try To Trick the Search Engines

Practicing questionable tactics like cloaking and using hidden text is a bad idea. The last thing you want is to get your site banned. These kinds of tricks will do it. So can using hidden links, link farms, linking to bad sites, distributing viruses and sending spam. Don’t try to trick the search engines and don’t work with any companies that use these techniques.

Overcoming these common mistakes can give you head start when creating effective content on the Internet. SEO copywriting requires effort. Putting content on your site and distributing it on the web takes time. If you work at it over time and create lots of valuable content, effectively "brandcasting" your site, you’ll be rewarded with more traffic.

The way to make money with Twitter is easy to explain, get a huge number of followers and then direct them to your blog or web page. Getting it to work in practice is tougher. You want to build up a huge number of followers who are genuinely interested in your niche. Just following as many as possible and hope that they will reciprocate and follow you will not get the right followers.

Your profile needs to make it clear what you are interested in. If you want to be active in more than market, set up multiple twitter accounts, each account targeting one specific niche. Then you try to get as many followers as possible, who are interested in your niche. Twitter restricts the number of people you can initially follow to 2000. By default, you can follow 10% more people than follow you.

The limitations on the number of people you can follow means that you have check the people you follow. You stop following those who don’t follow you and use the space you created to follow new people. At the same time as you make sure that you send your followers useful information to build your credibility. After a few months, you should have a couple of thousands of followers.

Twitter messages, called tweets, can only be 140 characters. This gives you a good excuse to just send a short statement plus a link to a web site with additional information. Make sure that you have interesting information and fresh news to send to your followers. Make sure that you have gathered plenty of useful information before you create a twitter account. You can use services such as Google Alerts to get fresh news related to your niche, without you having to actively searching for it.

Sending your followers to a web page with interesting information and some PPC ads is a reliable way of making small but steady stream of money. You want to target niches with ads that pay good money per click. Using PPC ads rather than trying to sell your products has the advantage that you get paid without your followers buying something. You can promote your own products, but it has to be done carefully. If you keep on trying to sell products, you will lose followers quickly. You need to give your followers a lot of useful information, and once in a while you can squeeze in a product promotion.

Most recreational webmasters completely ignore them, while others swear by them. Some Major League websites have gone as far as to create lawsuits against affiliates deep linking in an attempt to limit direct access to inner pages of their sites, like sales and order pages, claiming it undermines their sales process and bypasses advertisers.

Despite the controversy, for those in the know, deep links have become an essential part of their SEO strategy and the benefits are indisputable.

For those who don’t know what a deep link is, it is simply a link from a page on one website that links directly to an inner page of another website. Unlike what is commonly referred to as a backlink that simply links to the homepage, deep links typically point to a specific piece of information or relevant topic.

I’m a huge fan of Deep Links, while getting links to your homepage certainly has it’s place in SEO, it doesn’t even come close to the results you get from a deep link.

A recent report from Nielsen stated that in the year 2004, about 40% of people traveled to a website via the homepage and then drilled down to what they were looking for and only 60% arrived via a deep link.

In 2008, only 25% of all visitors arrived at websites via the homepage, the rest perform specific keyword searches and expect to go directly to the information they are looking for.

We live in an age where people have a serious attention deficit, and on top of that we expect instant gratification. Especially when it comes to technology like the Internet.

Google and other Search Engines know this, not only do they know it, but they are partially responsible for it. By creating smarter Search Engine algorithms and producing more relevant search results, users have become more accustomed to finding what they are looking for instantly.

It leads to reason that you should make it as easy as possible for the Search Engines to find and rank your inner pages.

Having an optimized internal linking structure for your site is important as well and it helps the Search Engine robots drill down through your site and create a list of pages for inclusion in their databases, but it does not guarantee that those pages will ever rank well in search results.

The reason for this is obvious, well maybe not obvious to us, but it is obvious for the search engines. You see, internal links are created by the webmaster and are very biased in nature, in other words, the SE’s cannot trust them.

Blame the thousands of unscrupulous webmasters that have tried to take advantage of the SE’s using sneaky black hat methods.

On the other hand, a one way deep link coming from another website pointing to an inner page on your site is like a direct, unbiased recommendation for the content on that page.

The search engine robots will follow these links, and again using very smart algorithms and technology, will extract data and determine the value of the page, links and thus inclusion in future search results.

There are other benefits to deep linking as well, some of these are fringe benefits that come as a result of having more traffic direct to inner pages on your site.

For example, Advertising.

You can now sell advertising on these inner pages for a higher price once you prove the amount of traffic they are getting. This type of advertising is easier to sell as well, since the traffic is much more targeted and will convert to sales at a much higher rate.

You can easily prove your traffic by using free tools such as Google Analytics to get detailed traffic statistics.

In future articles we will talk about the structure of your site to properly handle the traffic you get from deep links as well as the importance of having outgoing links on all pages of your site.

Make a connection. Earn the client’s trust. Build up a reputation. These are the usual suggestions when it comes to list building. These three pieces of information are usually advocated as well in most list building videos and tutorials. And it turns out that many novice Internet marketers believe that building up a list of potential patrons is the end-all solution to email marketing. Needless to say, this should never be the case. After all, how can you possibly make money online if all you ever do is build lists, without really considering why you are doing this task in the first place? Yes, building a list is important. Yes, keeping up email promotions is important. Yes, having potential patrons on the line is important. But do you really get any favorable results from your efforts?

Is it any wonder then why many people think that automated list builder and list building software do not work? The one thing you have to remember is that these are only applications used in order to make things a little bit easier on the marketer’s part. These applications remove the more tedious element in the online marketing equation. However, to ensure the success of your email promotions, you have to first define what your goal is with each and every list you build. If you are marketing different products, your email promotion list should also have different purpose and goals as well. Using the same principle on all your lists, regardless of what you are trying to promote, is a surefire formula for failure. How do you circumvent this problem then? Here are some tips:

1. Take a second but harder look at the product / service / idea you are trying to promote. For one particular item alone, try to define exactly what kind of information your email patrons would like to know. What is frequently being asked? What is a possible piece of information that seems vital, but is often overlooked by other marketers dealing with the same goods? If you were subscribing to this email notification, what information would you want posted as soon as possible; and what type of information would you like to receive from hereon after?

2. Try to figure out what information you can impart with your subscribers; and what you should not. You do have to remember that marketing is about selling your product / service / idea to a potential market. Naturally, you would not want to bore them with details that they may not want to know, or data they never asked for in the first place. This may come as a surprise to you, but many marketers fall for this mistake far too often than anyone cares to think. In the bid to continue with the program, the smallest insignificant detail is sometimes added just to keep the email promotion going. This is where the fine line between email marketing and spamming is crossed. Keep information pertinent to this batch of subscribers without going overboard. At the same time, you want your information to be "fresh" but not redundant.

Christopher Freville, creator of Automated List Builder, has generated 50,000 subscribers in his first 12 months as an online marketer. This software application program is now earning him more than ,000 per month. If you would like to know more about the Automated List Builder and list building, Freville will certainly be a big help.
