CommentLuv and NoFollow Free
I have added onto this blog a great plug for Wordpress. It is call CommentLuv.
Below is the description of this great plug in.
“CommentLuv enables you to reward your blog readers by leaving a titled link to their last post automatically whenever they comment thus encouraging more comments by more people on more posts!
It has been found to increase comments and traffic to blogs and their commentators. It currently runs as a Wordpress or Drupal plugin.”
So when ever you see a blog with CommentLuv installed making a comment and having it show your last post from your blog is a great way to get backlinks to your site and to improve your sites rankings in the search engines. I have also removed the dreaded ‘no follow‘ tag from comments which usually prevents the search engines from following those links. Most people who use Commentluv fail to remove that tag and it basically makes Commentluv half as good as it should be.

Commentluv, is a great widget to add to reward your commentors. Its a win, win. You get more comments and they get a backlink to their site.
I love commentluv and use it on my site also. I also make sure and give a little ’sponsor luv’ on sites that I leave a message on.

Hey I completely agree with you that Comment luv with the no follow tag is rendered useless.
A no follow link does not pass any ranking points for any keywords neither does it give you PageRank.
Unfortunately people are putting in plugins like comment luv and keyword luv and still have the no follow tag turned on.
The blog commenters think they are getting a good link and in reality they are wasting their time.
Of course commenting is for building relationships but for SEO purposes a no follow blog is pretty useless.

I do find that nofollow links do show up in google webmaster tools links though, so still probably worthwhile making a comment if the subject interests you

I have CommentLuv and KeywordLuv and they are both amazing. I don’t understand why every blogger doesn’t use them, as well.

Is there a way to tell if a particular installation of commentluv has the no follow tag turned off??
Do follow blogs are good and simple when they have a good link.

I cannot believe that there are still bloggers out there who are not yet using Keyword Luv. I’ve been using it for quite a while and truly loving it.
We’ve been using keyword luv for enough time to realize all its amazing assets. Now, we would never concider blogging without it.

CommentLuv encourages comments but you have to vet them to avoid spam
I don’t think spammers are avoidable, they are like cockroaches that never quite.
Having said that, I still use CommentLuv and KeywordLuv on all my blogs.

love using the plugin and it really doe’s help with great anchor links but is better if you can stay on topic which can be really hard.
Thats cool, It’s a good decision and will help others. I’ve recently heard that the latest CommentLuv plugin gives a list of options to choose from your posts and doesn’t automatically loads the latest post, which is good as well for the targeted market you can choose your best post. I can see your getting the odd spam comment because your using keywordluv. I feel your pain mate…using Bad Behavior and Akismet at least kills off the obvious spammers :p

A lot of blog owners don’t keep their plugins up to date I’ve noticed. Commentluv quite often doesn’t work… Works on this site though!

A lot of people won’t use CommentLuv because it increases the amount of driveby spammers but I still use it on a lot of my blogs.
