One of the most important features of all good EPOS software is integrated charging.Basically the feature involves an instant electronic fund transfer at the point of sale.More often referred to by its acronym, EFTPoS, the software links to a till and allows customers to make a payment via debit or credit card which is instantly debited from their back account.

Reduce Number of Cash Purchases
Integrated EFTPoS systems can assist in reducing the number purchases made using cash and the risks associated with it.For example, the risk of receiving counterfeit cash at the point of sale is reduced, time spent handling money is reduced during cashing up times, less deposit runs to the bank are needed reduced and the number of collections by security firms can be reduced.

Reducing Cheque Payments
As well as helping to reduce the risks associated with cash sales, EPoS software, with EFTPoS integration, also helps to discourage payment via cheque.Cheque payments carry their own unique set of risks, one of the most common being ‘bounced cheques’, a term used to describe when a customer does not have enough money in their bank account to cover the cost of their purchase.

As well as the obvious issue with such an event, both the customer and business are charged a fee by their respective banks.

Should this situation occur with EPoS software, with integrated EFTPoS, in place the sale would simply be refused should insufficient funds be present, meaning the customer would be prevented from leaving with items they have not paid for and removing the risks of any further bank charges.
