Search Engine Optimisation – On – Site Strategies

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the process of increasing you’re online presence by achieving higher rankings in the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPS) in the organic listings. Purely white hat techinques should be used to ascertain rankings within the SERP’s, and not techniques that are classed as unethical or black hat – this type of black hat activity can severely damage your companies online presence and can result in your website being banned from the search engines for a certain period of time.

Over 90% of all web site traffic comes from the search engines. Just because your site is listed in the search engines doesn’t necessarily mean that your customers can find it.

Search Engine Optimization and Positioning is an art and science, it involves a tactical and strategic approach using creative techniques using an in-depth study of the search engines, and it’s not a simple matter of adding a few tags that contain your important keywords or word stuffing your pages with duplicate repetitive content.

1. On page Optimisation refers to the work carried out on your entire website, this ensures it is search engine friendly and includes the key phrases at an appropriate density and in the appropriate way for the search engine to give your site more relevancy than others.

2. Off page Optimisation refers to broadening your base and establishing your site within the online community. A high level of off page optimization is successfully achieved by submitting your site to relevant, high page ranked websites, portals and directories etc, this will increase page rank and in turn your online presence in the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPS), when a website points to you this is deemed as a positive vote for your website, the more votes you receive the more you are rewarded.

The main focus here is on page optimisation

On page optimization is the work carried on your website which is visible on your website, or is directly linked to from your website, with the combination of off page strategies this will maximize your website and its ranking potential.

Web Sitemap: – Helps to provide a thorough website crawl. Very useful tool for humans and web spiders

Robots exclusion file:– This can effectively funnel rank power, links that are useful to humans and search engines are completely different things when it comes to SEO.

Validation: – This will vastly improve Spider-ability; this increases the amount of pages the search engine spiders visit and cache in their index.
Enhance search engine spider ability – Search engines find content by following links – links have to be optimised to their full potential. A page that cannot be crawled for whatever reason cannot be ranked effectively.

Effective Category Structuring – Categorizing your products in a search engine friendly manor.

Creating a spiderable navigation – sometimes search engines find it hard to spider website navigation, we will ensure this task is made easy as possible for the search engines.

Enhance URL Structures – To encourage click through on SERPS and SE visibility

Appealing to linkers – Encouraging repeat visits

Site Architecture – Well organized information architecture provides semantic and usability benefits
Meta Data and Syntax – (title, sub titles, header, images, Meta data, doc text etc)
